The longest wait ever?
--Waiting for food delivery!
Well, finally Zomato has heard us and our wait for the food delivery is the shortest it has ever been.
Zomato recently announced that it will be launching instant delivery and that too within just 10 minutes of placing the order.
Still can’t wrap my head around the fact that this is really happening.
The first thing that crossed my mind when I first read this news was the safety of the delivery people. Will they be pressured to deliver the food faster or be charged penalties for failing to deliver within the allotted time?
Putting all my queries at rest, Zomato finally declared in one of its articles that delivery partners are not informed of the promised time and neither will there be any pressure on them. The delivery partners will be allotted with adequate time to deliver their orders.
That’s when I realized that this new business model is not based on the speed of the delivery but instead Zomato had something else in mind.
Brief Of Zomato 10 Minute Delivery Model
Zomato’s promise of quick delivery lies in building a dense network of finishing stations which will be located in the close proximity of the high demand customer neighborhoods.
Taking the help of analytics and algorithms, the high-level demand dishes will be prepared beforehand with the commitment of the food being fresh, hot and sterile. Future ready in-station robots are also employed for the same.
Why The 10 Min Delivery Initiative?
As claimed by zomato, this initiative was sought to fill the empty stomachs the fastest and also the everyday usage of their sort feature (for fastest delivering restaurants) also gave them this idea.
In addition to this, after investing in Blinkit (quick commerce space), Zomato realized that the average 30 minutes delivery is too slow and will soon become obsolete by someone else if not by them.
Well the business mindset in me couldn’t agree more. Because leading from the front is the only way to THRIVE and SURVIVE.
Do you think this business model or innovation will be successful and Zomato will be able to deliver their promise?
Well personally for me, being a long-term customer, there is one thing I can vouch for and that is - Zomato makes “no compromises” when it comes to food and its customers. And the idea of housing the best seller items seems genius to me given that the company has years of experience.
Lucky for them :)
Hopping on the quick-commerce bandwagon, Zomato has surely made a wise choice. If you are a Business entrepreneur, then it’s time for you to make this smart decision too.
